Coffee Cup Project

My wife and I have been looking for ways to make our kids do something productive rather than playing with all those game consoles the whole day. One time we even tried to bribe them to plant something by giving them cheap promotional candies, but it was an exercise in futility. After a couple of hours trying to plant some seeds, they went back to playing video games; that same thing I gave them as gifts last Christmas.

The problem is a bit solved now though. Somehow we discovered something that all of us liked to do, and me and my wife totally capitalized on it – drinking coffee. One breakfast, all of us agreed that the kids would make their own custom printed promotional coffee cups and the best design will win a prize. We haven’t agreed on the price yet, but it’s a good start.

The kids went into a frenzy doing the little project, and the video games suddenly collected dust. They were able to make a lot of custom imprinted promotional coffee cups. Apparently, they were not satisfied with the designs they made, so they continued to make more, adding and mixing different colors each time.

To me though, those custom promo coffee cups were amazing. I could not have done them in my lifetime. I just don’t have the artistic ability. Well, at least the project is doing great. With their mind off to do much more productive stuff, I plan on selling (or buying) those cups to let them start a little business of their own.
